I dunno--maybe this could be posted under herbs?

Anyway...After trying unsuccessfully for 2 yrs to get brown jars to store my herbs, I finally have to admit to reality--there are no brown jars to be had any more (unless I want to buy the small 9 oz size which hardly hold anything at all.) So today I took my husband's advice and I spray painted clear jars. Then I took the advice of James Green (author of The Herbal Medicine-Maker's Handbook) who says our herbs should be stored in pretty jars and nicely labeled. So, here's the end result. 11yo ds helped by painting a few leaves and painting THYME on one of the jars. I think I'm onto something here. I think I might do a lot of jars like this.

I like your idea! What a great way to use jars that would ordinarily be thrown away. I have mine in clear jars in a dark tub but I'm going to save all my pickle jars and such and do this.

Wow--thanks! I looked all over the internet and never found these. I wonder how I missed them.
