thanks for this link MM. I am looking for simple recipes for bread. I figure I'd better practice now, so when my family's meals depend on food storage, I'm equal to the task.

The best thing to start with when learning to use sourdough starter is to make pancakes or waffles or bisquits. These help you learn the process of using sourdough.
I have been doing this over the past month (or has it been two - time is speedily passing) and I am slowly getting into bread making. Bread loaf making seems to be much more involved and I am still trying to figure it out.

I need to add something - I have been making bread for years. But it has only been recent I have been studying more about artisan breads and firebrick bread ovens and sourdough.
