VALLEJO, CA (KGO) -- Ten intensive care unit nurses who work in a Vallejo hospital where swine flu patients are being treated are now showing signs of having contracted the virus.

Nurses with Sutter Solano Medical Center filed a complaint Tuesday with the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health, accusing the hospital of failing to provide enough disposable masks with air filters for nurses to wear.

Jan Rodolfo, a spokeswoman for the California Nurses Association, the union representing the nurses, said the health care workers complained to hospital management about having too few masks. She said the hospital responded by providing masks that did not properly fit.

Officials from Sutter Solano Medical Center did not immediately return calls for comment.

The hospital is currently treating three people who have the H1N1 (http://search.abclocal.go.com/search/results?station=kgo&search=siteSearch&q=H1N1) virus. The infected nurses suffer from respiratory illness and their doctors say they "probably" have the swine flu, Rodolfo said.
