Somewhere on the internet I got hold of a packet of recipes that use wheat but you don't need a grinder--things like ww chili, pancakes in a blender, etc. Now I can't find what I did with it. Does anyone have this packet of recipes? The title I have for it is "No Grinder? No Problem" and it's about 10-12 pages of recipes. Sound familiar?

If you go to "Recipes" you'll find more recipes. Here's one for pancakes... http://foodstoragemadeeasy.net/2009/02/05/food-storage-blender-pancakes/

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I hope it helps!

Here's another place with recipes... http://www.trackmyfoodstorage.com/RecipeSearch.aspx?lang=en&searchstr=Wheat

I found this on some "Chicks & Dip" blog...

Whole Wheat Pancakes (No grinder, no problem!) (http://ourrecipegroup.blogspot.com/2009/07/whole-wheat-pancakes-no-grinder-no.html)

Whole Wheat Pancakes
1 cup whole wheat kernels
1 cup milk
Blend 1 minute in blender then add:
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Blend additional 4 minutes.

Notes from the girl in my ward who shared the recipe: If you have a VitaMix is needs way less time in the blender. Just for those who like to substitute items I have learned that applesauce instead of oil is not a good idea and if you are making the milk from dry powder you need to add more water or the batter ends up too thick. They are delicious and easy to freeze and reheat for a quick breakfast (I, Kalia, always like to just put the extra batter in the fridge and only cook what we'll eat, that way it's still fast the next time you make them, but they are perfectly fresh and not reheated, and even more flavorful actually!).

If you have a VitaMix is needs way less time in the blender.

I have a VitaMix and there are 2 blenders that go with it - one for liquid and one for dry. The blades are different.

If you put dry wheat berries or corn in the "dry" blender, it will grind it into flour.

I love my VitaMix!!

The downside is that if there's no electric, we all still need a hand grinder.

Thanks for the links! I think I've found all the recipes that were in that packet except for the one for whole wheat chili (used wheat along with beans, meat, etc) which is no biggie. When I get it all put together I'll post it here. Thanks for your help!

The recipe for the wheat chili is on one of those links - I'll go look for it!

Here it is.....

Wheat Chili

Soak 2 cups wheat in 6 cups water

Next day add 3-4 beef boullion cubes and bring to boil. Simmer 10 minutes.
Meanwhile brown 1 lb hamburger with 1 large chopped onion.
Chopped celery and green pepper can be added if desired.
Add meat to wheat along with:

1 can tomatoes
1 can mushrooms
1 pkg chili seasoning mix
Simmer at least 2 hours until wheat is tender and liquid is absorbed longer simmering inhances flavor and tenderness.
