    Default Whole Wheat Cereal

Got this good info from someone on how to make:
    Whole Wheat Cereal

Take 2 cups of wheat kernel and 4 cups water in a crock pot. (Basically 2-1 ratio.) Simmer on high for approximately 2 hours. Turn off the crock pot and let it sit overnight untouched. (Don't open the lid.) Then throw them in a container and place in the refrigerator. (When I did this, the kernels on top looked dried out and the ones on the bottom where moist, but I mixed them around in the container and they all looked moist a few hours later.) It says they'll last appx. 10 days in the refrigerator.

I started them in the early morning, simmered on high for 2 hours, and then left them turned off on the counter for appx. 7 hours. I think I used them that night.

I usually just cook the wheat in the crockpot on low overnight.. 2 cups water for every 1 cup of wheat. Then put the kernels in the fridge, and you can use them in just about every recipe I can think of. A great way to stretch sloppy joes, hamburger helper, soups, etc. We make fried wheat out of them just like you would use rice. They are great!

Those wheat berries are just so wonderfully delicious!
