I have started sprouting again for the last couple of weeks with great results. Fresh green food to put in anything. I found a site that not only tells you the vitamins and minerals in any food but shows you what you are getting in nutrition.

You just put in what you want to know about and it tells you what you are getting. I like the idea of sprouting because I will have green food within 3-7 days. Might be something to think about.

www.sproutman.com (http://www.sproutman.com/) is another good site. You water your seeds twice a day and I use the brita water system as what you put in you get and I don't trust the tap water.
Whoever was talkling about barley got me started on this quest as whatever I put into my body, I want it to count.

Thanks Cherokee!

Sprouting! What a grand way to have fresh vegis in your food storage.

Here's a way to have them in your 72 hour kit. Take a sandwich size ziplock bag, put a small handful of sprouts in the middle of a NEW folded white washcloth. Put it in the baggy and zip it shut. If you ever needed it, just lightly soak the washcloth in the baggy. Put the whole bag in a dark place in your kit and in 24 hours, you'll have sprouts. Just don't soak it too much or too little. Wet it all the way through but don't leave it dripping.

I'll attach a flyer from a lady who lives in Farmington Utah. Her seeds come in a 5 gallon bucket. There are NO alfalfa seeds mixed in. Alfalfa takes much longer to sprout than most other seeds. She mixes them in food grade diatomaceous earth which kills any parasite or bug even considering taking up residence. Plus, when you soak the seeds, you can drink the water and it will do the same for you.

I've seen (and bought) similar buckets for $130 dollars. Wait till you see how cheap she is selling hers.
