What did the butter taste like? and how long does it store for? It didn't say on the site.

Aldon

25 years or more shelf life.

I liked the butter well enough but admit it is slightly different but too hard top quantify.

Wheat bread fresh baked will not be palatable in my opinion without fresh creamery butter:)

After a week or so it will be the best butter ever in an emergency prep scenario.

Probably true and more or less why I bought a case.

I got one, too. When I saw that code was for 15% off the total order, I had to 'pad' it a bit. "...and one of those, and, ooh, one of those, and..."

Aldon

And due to your screen name, I would assume you bought some canned bacon as well!

I did, I just picture myself frying up some bacon at about the two month point of TSHTF scenario and being able to barter for just about anything when everyone who stored only the basics is sick of wheat paste:)

Baconator

Yep, got some (more) of that. It's not really breakfast bacon, but good for sandwiches or cutting up to put in other food (like rice).
I still don't have any wheat. I understand it can be turned into food....somehow.

You mentioned a code at checkout for 15% off. I didn't see a place for a code that came up anywhere.
I did it all but give my credit card and nothing shows for a discount. Do you have to be a member or anything?

Also side note . I was in Harmons St George today and they have the butter there in cases for $131. for 24 cans. Its only a bit more as with shipping the MRE depot is 126.00 approx.
You would have tax at Harmons as well. But if anyone doesn't care its not too bad.

It was on the billing page when I registered, but I thought it was on the order total page as well.

I just checked and when I go to check out it asks for a promotional code when verifying billing address.

Can't find the thread for the MRE depot 21% off. I looked under general chat, food storage and news . Where did it go? Anyone?

BTW, it's worth it to be on MRE Depot's mailing list, because sometimes they get special sales that go to previous customers first. You can sometimes save a lot of money that way.

MRE is having a sale on some items and a discount is required.

I have attached the flyer.

*** New Product Announcement ***
Hi Everyone;
I have a quick announcement for you on some new Freeze Dried/Dehydrated Items we just got in through a surplus bid. Most of you are probably already familiar with the Surplus Pork Chops and Cottage Cheese that were purchased from the U.S. Government, well I'm happy to say that we have made another large Surplus Buy and are bringing it to just our current customers while supplies last.
Although these are Surplus, I am happy to say that they are not even a year old. I guess it's not just banks and automakers that need to liquidate excess inventory to make the balance sheet look better. Their loss is your gain!
From Freeze Dried Beef and Chicken Chunks to Tomato Powder and Bouillon, we have 9 new products with up to a 25 year shelf life to share with you. And, while supplies last, we're going to sell them by the can so you can pick and choose any quantity/flavor that you want (and before you ask, we can't do the Pork Chops and Cottage Cheese by the can, as our supplies are too low on them and there is no guarantee that we'll be able to get any more, sorry).
You will see that these are up to 50% off what you would expect to pay for current Freeze Dried items, so take advantage of this now, as we don't know how long this supply will last. Plus, we're going to make it even better; use the Promotion Code VALENTINE to receive an additional 15% off of each of these cans (and almost everything else on our website), no quantity limitations and while supplies last (details below).

We don't have a lot of quantity on each and every item, so we may have to pull a few of these down if we start to run out. The nature of the Surplus business is that we have to take what they have when they have it (if we win the bid), and there are never any guarantees that there will be future purchases or availability. So please accept my sincere apologies in advance if we do run out of some of these before you see this e-mail.

There is another bid coming up in about 35 days, so if we get lucky and win some more of the same (or different items), rest assured that I will let you know as soon as I hear.

As always, thank you very much for allowing us to intrude on your inbox, I appreciate it and always promise to keep it only to important news or announcements!
