(Responsibly grown) Grandpa's Grain Premium Wheat

*the buckets are premium grade with o-rings in the lid for 30 year storage
*the wheat is 14% protein (some is more)
*the wheat is cleaned and packaged

Grown in Southern Idaho with organic based fertilizers, and minimal amounts of chemicals. The wheat is stored with a natural insect repellant and guaranteed insect free at delivery.

Major Group buy price only...

50lb. sack $18.00
45lb. bucket $23.00

I had a nice long conversation with Lynn from Idaho and this is a really great wheat compared to most other brands. His wheat is premium and he packs in virgin (not recycled) very thick (75 mil) plastic buckets...which protects the wheat much longer compared to recycled plastic 65 mil buckets. The product is as "organic" as he can make it and still maintain quality. You can't get the same quality of hard white wheat in the midwest which mostly grows soft wheat and even their red wheat usually has lower protein. I was told by the lady at Kitchen Kneads that the protein count was lower in the Montana wheat (usually premium) last year.

This group buy is if you can guarantee over 200 buckets sold and you handle the paperwork/distribution. He has recently brought his price down to $23 per bucket (5 dollars less without the bucket) for a non-profit distributor. He will deliver to the property of people ordering 20 buckets or more in the group buy area. I do not know how far he is willing to go to deliver...

There is another source of wheat that I am looking into that might not have the same quality or may not be white wheat but it $13 per bucket (plus gas). I will let you know as I find out more info.

Well, you could all come to our Preparedness Fair this March :wink5: where we'll have a bulk order of local hard white wheat, very high protein, for $15/50 bag.

I'd prefer they use mylar bags inside of the buckets instead of thicker/premium buckets. Mylar is much less porus to oxygen than is any plastic I'm aware of in buckets. I'm not sure if Lynn is looking for feedback, but this is my understanding...

North Dakota--cold like Maine but no mountains and no ocean.
