These are rats whose mothers came from the same litter. The mother of the rat on the right was fed a GMO soybean feed where mother of the the rat on the left was fed non-GMO soybeans:

The mortality of rats whose mothers were fed GMO soybeans was much higher than the rats whose mothers had non-GMO diets.
